Never heard that player. But I have to say you want to get the RCD 1072.Originally posted by ejuanpimanhey guys just wanted to know if anyone has heard this player with rotel equipment..., i currently havea rotel-rx1052 with b&w 705's, i wanted to know if this would be a good purchase, i orginally wanted the rotel rcd-1072, but cannot afford the price, the previouse equipment has already brought me over the top, thanks alot for your time.
The Rotel Rotel combo is hard to beat. The NAD might not mate well with the
Rotel, but the 1072 will. Try Agon for a 1072, they show up from time to time.Greg- Bottom

I had (still have) a T562 which is very closely related to the 542- in fact the dealer demoed a 542 through 705s saying they were pretty much identical (although he has since said that the 542 is a little better). Anyway I lived with the NAD T562 into 705s via a 110w Marantz receiver for a year or two. It was ok but my opinion changed daily as the 705s really needed top notch gear to tame the highs (and a little room treatment does not hurt either). If I was doing it again I would be looking for a mello player to balance out the system, or maybe tube amplification (but it sounds like you may have already purchased your amp).
To get it right I think you need to home audition whichever player you are considering and maybe put up some nice heavy curtains to make sure the bright factor does not rear its ugly head.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. Hi There,
I'm using this player for the past 1-1/2 year and I'm very pleased with the performance, I'm using it with Rotel RSX-1055 via analogue and for the price it is an awesome player... my speakers are B&W-602S3. if you get this by a good pair of RCA cables and you will enjoy this player for the price IMHO.
Good Luck....- Bottom

hi,
I'm using NAD c542 mated with ra-03 (used as preamp) and rb-1070 and the sound quality is good but when I had the chance to listen from the demo store the rcd-1072/ra-1060 combination and found much superior than my NAD. Right now I'm replacing my cd player and and preamp with rcd-1072 and rc-1070. My speaker is B&W 705.- Bottom

I hope you have something for a source rather than leaving that gear in boxes for however long you have to wait. Get something really cheap second hand with a digital out and use your receivers DAC. When you get your new player just sell the cheapy for about the same price you paid for it.
Also be aware that there might not be that much difference between a CD player at that pricepoint vs the internal DACs of your receiver.
I borrowed a $4k US ($6k AU) CD player last year and ran it via my Marantz receiver (as a per-amp) and a 100w power amp into 804s. I could barely tell the difference from my NAD DVD. It was a little better, but only just so the player went back. I was even starting to believe the high end skeptics.
I borrowed the same player again recently and ran it through a decent pre/power combo.....huge difference. Like you I am now trying to scratch together the money for the CD player.
I know you are using different gear but it is worth doing the comparison before buying so that you are not left wishing you had spent the money elsewhere in the system.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. Well there is a least one magazine that agrees.
This link
was posted on the audio hideout page recently providing one magazines opinion on whats hot and what is not - it lists your CD player and a number of Samsung DVDs.
Of course it is only one opinion and its reduced down to a simplistic number which doesn't really tell you much - but they certainly rank B&W speakers as good value for money.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. by whmacsHi Guys,
I'm looking to replace my yamaha 396 CD player connected to my RSP-1098 / RMB-1075 / RB-1070 with either a RCD-1072 or NAD C542. This week I brought home a C542 and connnected it via the analogue inputs. The sound left the Yamaha for dead. It was smooth, warm, and very musical with notes...-

by DUCKYAfter having had a NAD 502 CD player for over 10 years and loving it to bits, I went back to an all Rotel set. I first got the RDV-1060 but after some initial problems I chose to change it for an RCD-1072. The first one I got had a broken transport mechanism. The exchange was painless however and I...-

by PezMy friend was looking at CD players so when I went to an A/V shop he tagged along to see whats out there. I had mentioned all the good things I hear about the Rotel 1072 but he wanted to spend a fraction of what it costs. The salesguy proceeded to hook up a few players from Rotel, NAD, Cambridge Audio,...-
