Jumper Cables on 802D's Correct Way

I have always brought the speaker interconnects from the Amp to the Low end Post on the speaker itself and then Jumped to the Mid/Highs when using only one speaker wire to each speaker. In the manual that came with the 802D's it says to hook to the midrange/tweeter posts from the Amp and then jump to the lows. Why is that ? Does it relly make any Difference ? Does evryone here use the jumpers from B&W that came with the 802D's and what AWG is it ?
    Thanks,
    Glenee

Just get some good bi-wire cable and you won't have to worry if it makes a difference or not ....

I used to do the same as you. Then I tried swapping the jumpers with different types of wire (e.g. large copper, silver etc). But it always sounded best when I moved the wires from the LF plugs to the HF/MR ones.

I think it's easier to hear distortion on the high frequencies (e.g. the difference between the clear or muddy ringing of a bell) than it is for the bass sounds so you should make the HF signal go the shortest, best route.

When I rewired my speakers I didn't bother with jumpers at all. I just moved the top two wires inside the speaker down to share the LF plugs with the other two wires. It's really easy as they are held on with a screw. If you do this put some stickers or something over the unused plugs to save you trying them by mistake - some amps, especially tube ones, don't like being run with no load.

There is a (small) photo of mine on the front screen on my web page:
