I need a subwoofer recommendation. My setup is made up of a pair of B&W 603 S3's and a LCR 600 S3. All of this is powered by my rotel 1057 receiver and is in a room that measures 10x13. With that equipment and room size what kind of subwoofer would work well? Where should i begin my search (brand wise).

Lots of choices for sure.
Here are a couple I've had experience with.
Velodyne is a very good sub. I would recomend no larger than there DD 10 for your room.
I've also used Sunfire's Signature. It is an amazing sub and it's performance really suprised me. It's flexable and can deliver in small or large rooms.- Bottom

Subs
If you want a good tight and hard bass, you might want to try the B&W PV1 or if you can afford it, the asw750! I have the 750, i cna´t believe how tight it can play, and as a bass guitar player, I know that most subs miss don´t play all bass tones at an even level, but the 750 does!! I´ve tested a few sunfire subs, and i think they are to boomy! :W- Bottom

I second ac81017 with the ASW 750 for the equipment you have. This will compliment your system nicely, with a tight and powerful bass. You will be extremely happy In music and HT. Again, the ASW 855 ( which I have) will outdo the ASW 750 in smoothness and hefty price, but the ASW 750 In HT especially, is IMHO Kick Ass!!!
Since you have the 600 series, the most reasonable match would be the ASW 750 IMHO , as it would be the best marriage for your set up!
Keep us posted as to what you have decided?
Cheers!- Bottom

I have REL Starta 5 Sub, and I'm extremely happy with its performance in Music specally 2 channel with the Sub with my 602's... check it out and make your choice, I have heard great things about DD series of Velodyne on this forum though.
My 2 cents...
Happy Hunting....- Bottom

this gets back to my question a few months ago. B&W forum and people recommending non B&W subs, which led me to believe i should begin to look elsewhere for sub choice. svs is one that was recommended and with the color choices i started there. their cherry is a dark color doesnt match new models but i think would match b&w cherry of old. i have not heard one bad comment on svs but to my luck gloss piano black is currently on back order. i visited a tweeters and gave some thought to the velodyne and wasnt satisfied. svs gives more bang for buck.- Bottom

Depends if you want for music or HT, or even a mixture of both...
For the ultimate in lows for HT oompf (and possibly for serious pipe organ music) you may be better off with a ported sub, which can reach those low notes, at 16Hz or so...
If you want a more 'musical' sub, ported are OK too, but you might prefer a sealed sub.- Bottom

^agreed. Check MK they make beautiful subs. The V-75 is what we use to sell w/the 600 series. Not sure the new model name...I have a B&W ASW 1000 that I ran with my 600 series for a few years. It can be a bit boomy but for home theater it's great.
I just picked up some MK150's and will be selling my ASW 1000 if your intrested let me know.Old HT guy getting back into it!- Bottom

by JasondtxFor all the B&W fans I have a question. Have any of you heard the new 40th anniversary Signature Diamonds? I have had these in my store and just wanted to let people know that they are absolutely amazing! There is a limited production on this speaker and they come in 2 finishes. You can see...-

by Solid7I'm looking for something to add some sound to my family room. I want a couple of really high end speakers that look and sound great. I've built in translam before, and I have a method that makes really stiff, really heavy enclosures, and I'll probably use that method again. (I always like the Magico...-

by FALCODEANAll,
I have just gotten some Signature Diamonds which I am considering as replacements for my 800d. Not surprisingly they sound like much smaller speakers, the room is less filled with music and they disappear less than the 800d. So while I may like the 800d more I have to reduce the visual footprint...-

by mike_lHi Guys,
I am close to purchasing speakers/separates and would appreciate everyone’s input. The speakers will either be Paradigm Studio 100's (v4), Signature S8 (v2) or Signature S6 (v2). The Studios are available now and the Signatures may be available in March. My interest is 60%...-
