    805 Odyssey

After many amps and much speaker and amp buying and selling, I have arrived at some personal conclusions. Looks like the B&W line is for me. And for many reasons.

I own an Odyssey Stratos and am perfectly happy with it. It powers AR3a speakers. No laughing please. I owned Klipsch KLF20 & Heresy II and the AR3a blew them both away - IMHO. The ARs do disappear leaving you in the concert hall about 20 rows back. A very stunning and comfortable effect. I know there has to be better though so here I am at club B&W.

I really didn't want speaker stands but the praise for the 805 is overwhelming and no one seems to knock them except for lack of deep bass.

Anyone have an opinion on the Odyssey Stratos & 805 marriage?

Is this going to be a big step up from the AR3as and if so what should that difference sound like?

    Thanks for any help.

    RB-1080 v/s Odyssey Stratos
    by Tapesh
I own Rotel RB-1080 and my speakers are Magnepan 1.6qr.

Came accross this company Odyssey Audio. What they say is their amps have higher capacitance and lot of current and that makes them sound better. No idea what that means

Has anyone heard or compared Odyssey...

    RB-1070 vs Odyssey Stratos?
    by spiffnme
I heard so many good things about the Odyssey Stratos amp that I've gone and bought one. I'll be getting the 2ch stereo Stratos with the cap upgrade.

I currently have the Rotel RB-1070. Has anyone heard the two before? What should I expect?

    Pre/Pro suggestions
    by b&Wman
I'm in the middle of a system upgrade and am pretty sure my current pre/pro is a bottleneck in my system. I'm not very familiar with good pre/pros but I'd like something that is excellent for home theater and excellent for music. Excellent for music meaning that it doesn't color the sound and has...

Anyone using a RB-1050 in their system?
    by Evan Scussel
I just sold my 5 channel amp (Anthem MCA-5) and have a Odyssey Audio Stratos Dual Mono on order that I am going to try in my system but there is a 6 week wait.

Been looking around and saw a couple of these babies out there. I was thinking of buying one of these as a makeshift main amp...

need advice selecting new B&W speakers
    by b&Wman
I'm planning to upgrade my front speakers in the next several months. I currently have B&W CDM 1NTs as fronts, and although I like the sound, I find them lacking in bass, and my older cheaper sub doesn't integrate well with the B&Ws and muddies the bass.

    My recent upgrades...
