look at the nautilus. I like the cool looking gear, but I mean, come on. Sea shells in your listening room. I would say the above is a more conservative look than the nautilus.
If it is to be B&W's flagship, I'm sure it will sound quite good. Knowing them, sound quality is not one thing we have to worry about.
Myself, I'm holding out for the Diamond 805. You know it'll happen. It's just that no one knows when. B&W says the price of the 805D would push them out of the running because of the price. But, they did sell the silver signature stand mount for a minimal 8 grand a pair. And that was like 10 years ago, or more.- Bottom

It's not the first wildly looking speaker to come through B&W R&D doors though they are a little over the top for my tastes. I can't get the bath room trash can image out of my head each time I look at it. It isn't the ugliest speaker that I have seen but regardless of how good it may sound or affordable it might be I would never own a pair. About 80% of my time is spent looking at my speakers not listening to them. Looks do matter!Last edited by RebelMan; 19 October 2006, 18:36 Thursday."Dream as if you'll live forever. I have to admit, I don't really understand all the comments against the looks. Is it just me, or would these speakers fit better into a contemporary decor more than the Sea shell??
I guess I just don't get it. I know it's not the 800 line, but I mean come on.- Bottom

The B&W sea shell "Nautilus" cannot be said to be ugly in the general sence. I cannot say I've ever heard of someone refering to a sea shell as "ugly". The engineering of a sea shell is pretty impressive when you get right down to it. Whether it be by B&W or mother nature.
Regarding the photos presented hear. VERY UGLY! However, would I have ever purchased a WHITE Nautilus 802 if that where their only color? Not a chance! IMHO, white is about as bad as it gets.

That speaker looks like it belongs on the Spaceballs imperial command ship. It will be known as Mr. Speaker.

I can think of a great marketing scheme that will generate millions of dollars worth of free advertising targeted right at your consumer group.
A company that is a leader in a technology can "leak" photos of a horribly ugly design, saying that this will be their new top of the line model. Think of Ferrari releasing a car that looks like a Pinto. Then release the real deal later.
The hype would be huge.
We can only hope that this is what is happening here (I have not read where teh photos came from).- Bottom

I was told by a B&W rep yesterday at an AV show that these are the real deal, and there will be a formal debut coming in the new few weeks. I happen to find the design very refreshing. I just hope they live up to their billing in terms of performance.- Bottom

The first thing that sprung to my mind when I saw them was indeed Pedal Bin! Good to see that I wasn't the only one!- Bottom

by XavierMy CDP 300 shows a problem while playing the Thriller track of the newest 25th aniversary disk. About to the point if the rap and until the end of the music, the treble enters into complete distorsion, as if the sound cracks in a hiss effect. I've played it in another system without any problem. I changed...-

by LexmanGuys, a request for a Club Denon, combined with the limited activity of most of the clubs is causing me to rethink whether we should continue with the clubs we have, and add more potentially, such as the Club Denon.
Or whether we should do away with the brand specific clubs, and narrow... - Loading...
