803D & Amp

Do I need a new amp for my 803D? Today I use a Parasound A21. I need some advice. My future dream is HTM2D and an amp that sounds good with it.
There is too many to choose from, so give me an advice, will you?

Yes, sorry, but you need a better amp for those puppies!! They won't give them full justice with Parasound A21.

Try the classe, Krell, Bryston or Mac world ,and that will change the scenario drastically! However, you MUST audition ,beacuse ONLY YOUR EARS will make your final decision.

I have to agree with chinets. I actually have the A21 right now powering my 802D and I just feel that I am not doing them justice. There is a magic missing that I have heard on other 802D systems. At lower volumes the A21 is ok but when I start turning it up everything starts to fall apart with the A21. Music becomes muddled and confused....

I`ve heard that Bryston 4B SST can do a great job. Is that so? Anyone heard that combo?

I think enough can be found on this forum regarding this topic.
My choice would be classee ca 2200 + corresponding stuf. Not cheap. But ok.

using rotel 1092 for 803d and 1091 for center so far so good havent decided whether or not to move 1092 to fire the surround 804 and get a mac 402 for fronts or just continue with 1092

Sorry, I have to disagree. I have the 803D with Halo A21 and it's nothing short of fantastic. Even at higher levels it's beautiful. It's a perfect match.

I am running my 803S with an Audio Research 300.2. I listened to the Classe and Mac prior to purchasing the ARC. I don't know if the ARC was better than those two amps, but it was different. I liked the difference. You definitely need to listen. Since you already have the A21, maybe you could demo a few amps in your home. Then you could decide if you hear $4000 - $5000 of improvement over what you already have. Fore Example, I demo'd the 803S and 803D prior to purchasing my 803S speakers and although the D's sounded better, I didn't think I heard a $2500 improvement in sound. The guy who was at the demo with me thought the improvement in sound would be a value at a $5000 premium.

Other amps

I suggest checking out Theta or Chord (U.K.)

I am running my n804s with a Chord 1200e, before that it
was a Krell KAV 250a. The Chord smokes the Krell, more detail,
fast, and more power....

YOUR ears have to be the final judge, but I have 803s powered by Classe CA-2200/CP-500/CDP-100 setup. The bass is solid, the highs are detailed and the Classe system extracts the best from any recording.

The Delta series was developed with B&W in mind and I think they go great together.
