I have a question about speaker dispersion. When the manual says 40 degree arc (DM 303), does that mean to either side of the speaker or 20 degrees to each side?

The dispersion relates to the angle at which the speaker radiates sound at the rated distortion and sound level. Take it as a triangle with the vertex located at the speaker. Indeed, 40 degrees would be 20 to each side from the perpendicular. That is one of the reasons the XT sounds so good (its due to its slim cabinet and tweeter position) it dispersion is 60 degrees! The XTC however being meant to be a center channel dispersion is only 20 when set horizontally as to keep those voices exactly where they are supposed to be. In the XTC aiming is crucial for good sound reproduction especially for surround audio.Originally posted by RH CustomsI have a question about speaker dispersion. by SpinMonsterI’ll start this off by saying that I will never build another system without a wave guide. If there are any downsides, I don’t see them.
This system uses 2 RS180 midbass and one XT25tg60 (double magnet) in a wave guide crossed actively at 1700hz. The XT25/60 is superior to the single...-

by magicvinnyA friend of mine has XT8 front speakers. Now he's looking for a centre speaker.
The obvious choice would be the XTC but...the XT8 has FST midrange but the XTC has not.
Would it be better to buy a CMC2 wich has also FST midrange or go with the XTC anyway??
Thank...-
