    Picked the speakers, now the amp???

    Hi,

    Due to my money printing machine I have to do my upgrade in phases


    Phase 1:

    B&W 805s
    B&W HTM3s

    :::Running on a HK AVR5550 & DVD30 (7x75watts)

    Phase 2:

    Arcam AVR350 or Arcam 700/1000

    Phase 3:

    B&W 805s or B&W 803s

    Phase 4:

    Velodyne DD10


    I know both amps will run the 803's, but the 700/1000 will give better performance, but if I instead of going for the 803's I go for 805s all round I think 700/100 will not be used to its fullest.

      Im in the process of upgrading to the B&W 800 Series.

      803s/805s/HTM3s

      I cannot afford the classe amplifiers, what would you guys recommend? Ive found a couple of Rotel Amp's 1095 5x200watts, but don't know which processor to use, don't like the rotel...

      So can the jap yamaha 2600 run the 803s/805s? How much power is enough.

      Surely 100watts and higher would be fine for any speaker.

      Im putting together my new system and becuase of price have to choose between 800/700 series:

      805s $5,000.00
      805s $5,000.00
      HTM3s $4,500.00
      $14,500.00

      or

      703 $5,700.00
      705 $2,500.00
      HTM7 $1,500.00...

      My 2 year old son recently squashed the dust cover on the midrange driver on one of my B&W 805S speakers - nightmare...

      Anyway, they are difficult to repair and not replaceable unless you replace the entire midrange unit, which is quite expensive. However, an eBay...
