    Experience with RealTraps or RPG?

Hi there group! I am seroiusly considering adding some minor room treatments. I am looking at the Realtraps Minitraps to tame the bass of my 802D a bit. According to their website, their traps have really good absorption coeffecients especially in the bass region. Actually, their numbers are the best I have seen advertised.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have no first hand experience with realtraps. But the person who owns the company, Ethan, has been very helpful to many people on various room treatment threads.
He helped me with my DIY solution, and seemed happy to do it. It made a tremendous improvement in my room acoustics. He has
done the same for many other people. I can only assume that he makes
a good product, and, will provide great support. You could email him and ask about your situation, likely he will have very good advise.

My dad has N802s and just purchased a room full of RealTraps. He says they are amazing (he had a full EchoBusters and ASC tube trap assortment before).

He said the room not only sounds better, but the build quality is outstanding.

I haven't seen or heard the system myself though since he got them.

For bass traps, you may want to also look at:

GIK makes a nice product, lab-certified, at great prices.

You could always buy 4" thick Mineral Fiber equivalents, wrap them in burlap and glue them to the walls.

That is what I did - 5" thick though (rigid fiberglass) and I hung them rather than glued them

Did the 5" thick panels you made help? Where do you get this kind of material?
Those who know it all know less than those who don't

I got my fiberglass from one of the local HVAC outfits. A case (6, 1" sheets - 4'x10') was $130 or something...it will probably cost you a little bit more.

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

Hi, I've recently stumbled on RealTraps.com and noticed their products and frankly, suprised to find out how affordable these things are. I'm still in the process of upgrading and getting most of the componets for my living room HT and realized that room acoustics has a major role in the overall audio...

We are planning to update our basement. Part of that update will be to construct a HT room in the corner of the basement. :T Below are some facts about the planned room and also what I plan to do in creating the room. We plan to begin within a month or two.

First if a person can't afford to have a professional do the room then it a very wise investment to buy a copy of RPG Room Optimizer $100

                  Hi all

I registered here to share my results with existing builders and future builders. The Statement 2s are great. Thanks to Jim and Curt for making this design available. Excellent results.

My build is fairly close to the build plan. The only deviations were adding an additional...
