    Speaker Upgrade - 703 or 800 series?

    Currently Rotel 1067,1072,970, Marantz DV7600, Rega P3, HTM7, and Yamaha NS1000 speakers.

I'm leaning toward B&W 703 fronts and dealer says due to lack of floor space DS7 rears.

Should I go with filling out ht with 3 DS7 rears and 703 fronts or go with something in the 800 series fronts and replenish funds to fill out rear? My concern is getting system match and would prefer to go with no sub.

    Jayhawk,

I have edited your post above to make it a little more specific - as I see you have had lots of looks but no responses.

Your Rotel 1067 will drive the B&W 703s very nicely and you wil have a balanced system. I'd personally leave room for a sub - either the ASW750 or, if space really is at a premium, the PV1. For home theatre, the sub really makes all the difference in the experience...

The lower end of the 800 series (say the 804S or 803S) can be driven by the Rotel 1067 and will sound very good. However you really need a better amplifer to drive them to their best, so if you do go the 800 series path, be prepared to keep upgrading...

now i have more questions. in another thread i asked if ugrade amps first or speakers thinking about rotel path of using 1092's and 1091 and was told speakers first. the big fear is i will be unhappy immediately with no fire at the speakers. in reading threads i am seeing it is not wise to mix 700's with 800's and i dont want to get into a monthly ugrading. i guess the next question is will the ds7 fit with 800 series or will i be looking for ugrade and wasting time. this goes back to start with fill ht or ugrade fronts.

        B&W 604 s3 VS 703
        by Trevor
I was wondering if I can get some opinions on the 703 series. I have the 604 s3 right now and I love the way they sound. I have been to store 3 to 4 times and listened to the 703 and noticed a big change in the soundstage and a smoother and pronounced mid section with the speakers. I want to know...

Which series do you own: 600, 700 or 800?
        by RebelMan
Several posts around the forum got me thinking about the popularity of the different B&W series of speakers. I believe of the three primary series (600, 700 and 800) the 600 series is by far the most popular. While the 800 series is reserved for the hi-end esoteric the 600 series is the entry...

        advice needed on 703 & 804
        by sugarmedia
        Hey Gang,

I'm in the market to purchase either the B&W 703 Series or possibly consider the 804 series.

Can anyone tell me what the pros or cons of speaker are? From their appearance there doesn't seem to be a big difference except for the tweeter.

Downgrading from 800 to 600 series - Will I Hang Myself Later?

Want to get a new car and need to put away some money towards a down payment. Thinking of selling my 800 series and dropping back to the 600 series and using the difference towards my down payment. Don't get me wrong, my speakers are in the top five favorite things I've ever owned and I'm not disappointed...

A View into the Rotel 15 Series Class D Amps
        by =AirCeej=
During the process of putting another HT together, I began auditioning amps to replace a Sunfire Series 1 Load Invariant and an Anthem MCA20 – noteworthy at the respective price points in their day and for the Sunfire: novel. Appreciating the ideas and most of the execution designed into the Sunfire,...
