That is an awsome deal. I just paid $3000.00 and thought my dealer gave me a great deal. This is over 25% off retail. Where is this? I thought that Rotel/B & W really frowned on online trading.

I'd be careful uncledan, like Boone38 said, i've never seen them online for sale especially at that price. That's what they sell for used, ever higher.

For a pair of 804S the punishment here in Europe is 4.000 Euros and given the exchange rates that means I paid 4000*1.25= 5.000 US dollars!!!

Ditto re the on-line seller warning. B&W do not allow on-line sale or even sales by dealers unless the customer has entered the store. Dealers selling out of reagion or on-line have (in some cases) had their B&W dealership suspended... Just postings on this or other forums re the "great on-line deal" has lead to this...

Some dealers will do on-line, but very discretely...

Others are scams / shady resellers etc...

You need to determine which...

There is also the question of warantee and after sales service...

For $100 I would think carefully...

THAT is smokin' deal! If it is legit and from an actual dealer I would take it. Make sure that is not a refurb or a demo unit that they packed back up. I wonder if you could get the serial #'s and then ask B&W directly about its history. This could reveal if it was sent to another store, or previously registered by someone indicating you could be getting a used one. If you do go through with it, I would suggest paying with your credit card so you have level of recourse in case anything goes wrong.

I would check to make sure that the dealer is not selling a demo or refurb. Other than that it is a great deal. I got my 804S that were 5 months old from a local dealer here in Albuquerque for 3000 and that was a great deal. If everything checks out go for it you won't be dissapointed.

All other dealers were willing to give only a 10% discount.

I got demo speakers for $3K also but they turned out to be bad speakers, so I had to turn them in and buy new ones.

After shopping around I got 25% off retail in Vancouver off my 804's in June 2005. The retail was $3000 each Canadian and I got them for $2250 Canadian each. Most of the other retailers seemed to indicate that 10% to 15% was the most discount they would take off.

Nautilus 804 I purchased last spring for $2600 for the pair. These were new, out-of-the-box. My dealer was wanting to move these since the newer models were released.

I got my 804S speakers about a month ago for $3200. The dealer was having a 20% anything in the store.

I was initally looking at 703s for $3000, but once the sale started, the extra $200 to move up to the 804s was a no brainer.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago and the retail here in Toronto is $6000 + 15% tax! :E Of course i never paid that!

I got mine for about $2500 each + tax. Which i believe is a pretty good deal at 20% discount!

Let's see, with the Cad-US exchange rate now, I paid a whopping $4520 USD!!! With our dollar so good now i should've just bought mine in the states... :M I learned my lesson!

WooW, the speakers arrived safely. Actually, I bought the speaker from a buyer in US who want to upgrade to 803S after he bought the 804S. And the 804S is brand new untouched. I paid around CAN$3650 shipped and taxes included (thx for the exchange rate @ US1=CAN$1.12) I believe I made a good deal.

You should have said this wasn't a dealer sale, but a reseller of someone who had bought... In which case the price is reasonable... But be aware that while B&W have (and will generally honour) the international warantee - you should get the original dealer reciept if possible to help with any claims through your local B&W dealer.

This was not new from a dealer but "new" from someone who had bought and then decided to sell... These deals are rare and you have to monitor forums like Audiogon to find someone who has just the speaker you want... Also beware of scams (there are more scams than genuine sales in high profile products such as B&W)...

Seriously - consider new from a dealer at a discount... You'll get warrantee support and (from most dealers) upgrade trade ins etc for only a little more...
