    Asw600

    hello guys,

please bear with me on this... Well, I bought a ASW600 sub and just wondering if its true from what I've heard that if I use 2 RCA inputs from my subs I will get more volume with it or it doesnt matter? What benefit will I get on this?

Thanks for your help on this.

    Cheers!!!

    HI Adrian,
There are two basic hook up schemes available. If you are using your sub for HT, just connect the LFE output form the processor to the sub and you are done. This will also work for stereo music too as long as you are using the AV processor. You don't have to worry about switching cables.

For stereo music, connect both the the L & R preamp outputs to the L & R inputs on your sub. Volume is not the question. Internally, the sub will sum the channels together to create a mono signal for bass. This will work OK but better is dual, stereo subs.

Are you volume challanged? You should not be.

oic...well, i'm more onto HT not on stereo...but when I'm playing music(stereo) I usually turn off the subs so that I can feel my floorstand speaker.

So meaning it doesnt matter if I use a Y-splitter for 2 inputs (sub) or a single input...it will be no benefit on it? Kind of curious why there is 2 inputs form my sub instead of one (like my old sub).

Thanks for your input on this Sparky.

        HI Adrian,
See the second paragraph of my reply. A single input would only work if you have a LFE bass output from your receiver. What if you have a conventional stereo preamp or non-HT stereo receiver??? The two inputs solve that problem.
