Upgrade from 805+ Sub to 804S Worth it

I'm getting the upgrade bug again. This has been eating me out all week so I'll ask to see what others think.

I'm currently running N805 with a velodyne spl1000r sub in a small room for stereo only (3x4m).

Wondering if upgrading to 804S and no sub for stereo will be worth it or just wait until I can afford the 803 and move the system to the home theater room which is 5x5m.

My system consists of Musical Fidelity A5 CD Player and A300 amp rated at 150W per channel.

Listen mostly to Jazz, blues, easy listening, soft rock.

I know I should go listen and hear for myself and I will very shortly however I'm just curious to hear what others think about the move from 805 + sub to 804. My guess is I'm probably better off waiting until I can afford the 803s.

    Cheers, Guy.

Your 805 + sub should at least equal the 804s. I ended up adding a sub to my 804N. You may want to look into upgrading to the 803D to enjoy the difference in sound.

Yes I'm also thinking to wait until I can afford the 803S or maybe the 803D.

I also have muscial fidelity A5 Cd and integrated amp. Speakers are new 804s. These speakers are ideal for jazz and easy listening.

I upgraded from 805S + sub to the 804S + sub and i'm very happy. These are exactly what i was looking for. For me the upgrade to the 803S was not worth it, but jumping to 803D is totally different. The diamond tweeter is just awesoem.

In this moment at my place i have 703 and 805 and Zoran from this forum would bring his 803s as well.. So we would try to check how it sounds in normal not threated living room (u know my room from pictures i posted), and to find if it's worth to pay extra for 803s or maybe 805+sub (relatively cheap...

            804S to 803D

I'll be making a decision this month on whether to upgrade via the dealers upgrade policy to 803D's, or to possibly add a REL sub to the 804's. It was my dealers suggestion to add a sub based on my slight dissatisfaction with the 804's leanness in the the bass department and also the cost factor. He...

            upgrade from 804S to 803D?
            by chemguy
I currently am using the 804S' powered by Bryston's B100 SST integrated amp. Although rated at 100 W, the spec sheet that came with the amp, shows this to be conservative as it is actually more around 140 W. I am considering moving up to the 803D's since my first year of ownership of the 804's is almost...

Just a quick question on how you have your speakers set up.
Are you using a sub with the 803D's at all, or only in home theater setup.
If you are using a sub at what crossover are you using? 80, 60, or 40.
I find that in 2 channel I don't require a sub but for movies it is obviously...

            Hi Guys!
After months of researching, reading and asking questions on this forum I pulled the trigger on 803D L and R, HTM2D, Rotel RB1091, RB 1092 and RSP 1570 and Transparent cables.
Agonized a lot on the sub, but heard 803D's again today and felt impressed with it so will wait a while...
