    803D owners

Just a quick question on how you have your speakers set up.
Are you using a sub with the 803D's at all, or only in home theater setup.
If you are using a sub at what crossover are you using? 80, 60, or 40.
I find that in 2 channel I don't require a sub but for movies it is obviously required. Thanks for your help.

Yup I have a sub for movies and cross over is at 40hz for the 803's and the sub rolls off at 60hz just to ensure there is no hole ... have not really tried them both at 40hz yet ... but think some overlap is warranted.

Music wise with 803's you dont need a sub provided you have a punchy amp - also depending on the source material you may want to add a sub to get to the 20-35 hz range which is around the 803's limit. So its fiddle and test time ...

So much music today is produced with sound in the 20-35 hz range that having a good sub can really complement your music.

The 803's for me have just demonstrated just how inadequate my current sub is and am looking to upgrade that now... o dear it never ends does it.

    Rgds Steve.

      Folks,

I'm going to take a leap into the world of Hi-Fi and have recently placed an order for the 803s. There are only 3 pairs left coming to the US per my dealer and they are discontinued with the new line coming out. That being said, I wonder if there is that great of a difference between...

BIAMP 804S or upgrade to 803S or 803D
      by uncle_dito
      Hello everybody,
I have 804S with MF A5 CR Power/pre/CD for about 9 months. Lovely and excellent sound. But I miss a weightier bass. Has anybody biamped 804S and would be kind to report back improvements heard? In that case, I would consider purchasing another MF A5 Power (about 1800€). Another...

I already own the B&W 805S + HTM4 and thinking either selling them and opt for a pair of 803S or 803D.

Or should I just add a b&w asw825 sub with my setup? Does it make any big difference with adding a sub, I hear or read around that some people think the b&w 805S with...

      803d vs 803s vs 804
      by minelle
My dilema is whether to go for the 804s or 803s or 803d. I plan to use them for 60% HT and 40% music. My budget is US$ 15,000. My preference is clean deep mid bass.

My current sysyem is as follows:

      pair of N805 for rears
pair of 602 S3 for surrond
      pair of...
