    asw1000?

I am curently looking at buying an asw1000 subwoofer in which the subwoofer itself is dented (the ball part in the center of the woofer is slightly dented in). Now I am a poor college student looking for a great deal on a sub so I was wondering if that would effect performance dramatically.

I'm also wondering if anyone has any other recomendations on subwoofers that can be found in that price range that are maybe a little more musical. The reviews that I have read claim the sub is great for HT but not as good for a smaller stereo system. (2.1 hopefully with some 602's as mains)

Any input would be great as im pretty new to the greatness that very nice speakers can bring to the musical experience

I would like to find a used sub in the $4-600 range so I'm guessing anything from 1000-1,500 new

How to replace a dented B&W CM-4 speaker tweeter diaphragm
          by bnieman
I just replaced my CM-4 tweeter diaphragm and thought others may benefit from my experience.

Here are my modified directions from Eric at B&W on how to disassemble the tweeter:

          1. Remove grille, remove the 6 silver posts that the grill attaches too. Simply unscrew these...

          Full Range

A full-range driver, also known as a wideband driver, is a type of loudspeaker driver designed to reproduce a broad range of audio frequencies without the need for a separate crossover network or multiple drivers. It is engineered to cover a wide frequency spectrum, typically from the low-midrange to the upper treble frequencies, all in a single driver unit. Full range drivers feature several characteristics that separate them from standard drivers:

Speaker driver measurements: 2-4" midrange, full range
          by TMM
          Hi all,

Several years ago I measured a bunch of 2-4" cone midrange / 'full-range' drivers and published the results on my website in a 'Zaph Audio'-style. You can view the measurements and commentary here:

          RXV1500 I can't get low mid range.
          by PurpleTrillium
I bought mine online, but before I did I went to the local audio specialist in town to make sure I could adjust the EQ according to my tastes. I like to manipulate my EQ so that the mid range is quite low and the bass and highs are high. If the mid-range is high, I would rather not listen to anything...
