    Stand for Plasma AND HTM3S / HTM2D

For anyone who has looked for a plasma/LCD stand that has a shelf right below with a large enough footprint and weight capacity for HTM3S or HTM2D, have a look at the VTI AGR44 stand.

I spent several hours online trying to find just such a stand (this is the only one I found that can take up to an HTM2D), and finally found one. I just got it today, and have to say it looks great, and is not expensive at $242.00. If you want to see it, it's here:

    Bottom Shelf:

    Bottom Shelf: 130 Lbs

EastCoaster, one thing you might want to consider, since you asked about room treatments, is purchasing a front projector. Putting any object such as a TV in front of your speakers will distort the soundstage. Even if you place it flush with the wall, you will still have the inconsistancies between the materials used, though you could make it flush with the wall and use a curtain to pull over it whenever you want to just listen to music and improve the soundstage.

Hi Jeff - yup - I read some of your posts with interest. But unfortunately my current space is so small (city apartment) that I can't really put the TV anywhere else or camo it.... My TV isn't huge, it's a 37 inch LCD, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't obscure the soundstage.

I have listened to the 803Ds and want to purchase them along with the HTM2D. I want to put the HTM2D on a shelf just above my plasma TV. The shelf is in a large entertainment center (it's now being built) and is enclosed on all sides (except the front). The enclosure is 60" wide x 15" high...

Anyone have a drawing or layout of the HTM2D footprint?
        by nikos
        Hello,

I need to hire a local carpenter to make me a custom HTM2D stand.

Any of you have the footprint measurements so he makes it exact to the speakers dimensions?

        Thanks in advance.

        HTM3S vs. HTM2D
        by hunglikethor
I am building a 5.1 home theater system and am using 803Ds for the front, 805Ss for the rear and REL B1 for the subwoofer. I listened to this setup along with the HTM3S and it sounded excellent; however I have read that the HTM2D mataches well with the 803Ds. Before I go ahead and setup another listening...

A somewhat technical question to setup of center channel (HTM2D)
        by JimTW
We're building a custom wood center console for the Plasma TV and other
A/V components. The center channel speaker, the HTM2D, will go into a
cubby hole right underneath the Plasma TV. So, this means, the top,
bottom, left and right, and back of the HTM2D will be wood and closed...

As I'm wrapping up the bedside tables in the garage I have shifted my design focus to a multifunction bedroom TV stand. I've done some research on this at various websites (including this one) and have decided to go for it, despite several known design flaws. However, advice and input is always welcome,...
