    Dark sound in left speaker

There is a big difference between my loudspeakers. One of them has a darker sound, like something covering it.
I checked all the cables, swap the position and the problem always is in the same unit.
The model is B&W CDM 1NT. They are 8 years old. Maybe a filter is broken?
    What do you think?

Maybe a faulty or disconnected tweeter? Put your ear up to each driver to hear if it's making any sound.

A faulty crossover or a blown fuse (if it has separate fuses or protection breakers for the tweeters) can cause this too.

I'd say now's the time to upgrade.

I've already updated my system. I have a pair of 604 S3 that in general is better but lacks the detail that CDM 1nt had.
I want to keep my CDMs for the bedroom, and want to fix this problem.
I put my ear in the tweeter and seems to make a very small and dark sound.
Do you how much cost to change a crossover?

Nope. Sorry, can't help you with that. But you are not going to buy it on e-bay, are you? You will have to ask the dealer or contact B&W direct. So do it. They are supposed to be very supportive. At least that's what I heard.

              1nt vs N805
              by luszer
Potentially upgrading from 1nt to 805's, is this really an upgrade? Can anyone comment or provide recommedation on this proposed upgrade.

I will be matching it with an HTM2 for HT use, this is the only major reason for the 805 upgrade to have the 3 front channels match.

              New CDM-1nt speakers... What now?
              by Aven
I did it… I’ve gotten my first set of B&W’s! For my first set I got a demo’d pair of cdm-1nt’s for fronts and an asw300 subwoofer to give a little more bottom…

Currently, I’m running them with my old amp and player… A Sony home theater receiver and a Sony DVD player…...

CDM 9NT & CDM 1NT; Whats the current equivalent?
              by nick.h
              Hi,

Is it worth buying a CDM 9NT & CDM 1NT combo? Are they a good model to go for?

What are they compared to now in the B&W range?

              Cheers

CDM 1nt - with one sub, two subs, or upgrade speakers?
              by Dutch BW
I now listen to the CDM 1nt on their own, sounds really good but am missing bottem end frequencies. These speakers go down to 60hz, as a reference a 805s reaches 49hz.

              Would it be wise to:

a - Ad one good sub (for instance a asw700)
b - Ad two subs but a bit less...

crossover points for CDM 1NT'S & CDM CNT
              by TNTate
              Some help please...

I am setting up CDM 1NT's, CDM CNT, and a sub. What crossover points are best suited for both the sub and the speakers? This is my first time with the ability to set these values, I am a bit lost.

I appreciate any feedback out there.
