Been wondering about Krell, Classe, and McIntosh on this board...

There seems to be more talks and owners of Krell and Classe equipment
here on this board than for McIntosh. Is it simply because of the nature
and culture of the participants on this board? Or is any particular reason
that any one of you can think of?

Just curious... wanna hear some opinions and comments.

Rotel and McIntosh have very different sound for sure!

I have a RCD-1072 with McIntosh MA6500 and I'm very happy with my sound.

I think that B&W, Classe and Rotel are distributed together so I think that is why most people that have Rotel go to Classe if they want a big upgrade.

Nothing is wrong with McIntosh

I like McIntosh. I used to have ONLY McIntosh back in the 70's 80's like amps 2105 and 2500 (500 watts channel) Preamps from the C22 right up to the C41.

I just moved to another place in sound. ? I like the "Krell" sound that's all.

Did you know that Krell got their name from the Movie Forbidden Planet, "The Krell" were a Superior Race of Aliens ! After I learned that I went over to Krell.

That really isn't the reason, but sounds good doesn't it ?

I'm using McIntosh on 800D and HTM-1D.I've heard the Classé Cam-400 and this was my second choice.Got a pair of 1201 blocks on my 800D's and the sound and power is just magnificant.I think it's just a choice you make for yourself.I don't think you can go wrong, either with Krell, Mac or Classé
