Moving to House and can't find a reason to upgrade from FPMs

Just when I thought I was done with the upgrade issue and built my dream system (for appartment use), I have decided to buy a house in the next 6 months to a year. I currently have B&W FPMs with a PV1 sub and love the look and sound of the system. I have to admit I havent auditioned the 700 or 800 series, but I am curious to know from those of you who have what I am missing as compared the FPMs.

I have heard that there is a "loss" in the FPMs becuase of the slim design, but I have to say with the right sub it sure doesnt sound like anything is lost to me. The only issue I have now is they are being powered by a Rotel RSX 1067, and I have never heard my speakers past 70% of what they can do.

I guess my question is when moving to a house in a situation where I can really crank my music and HT will moving away from FPMs to the 700 series or higher be a segnificant difference? I guess it can go without saying that there would be in the 800 series...and at that point I would also want to trade up the RSX 1067.

    by Nolan B
At present I have a 1067 powering my B&W FPMs. Id like to make a change but need to understand bi amping first.

Would it be better to sell the 1067 and buy a 1068 (or equivilant when new format comes) and 1077?

Would it be better to keep the 1067 and some how Bi amp...

    Moving towards SSP 800
    by Nolan B
    I need some advice.

Ultimately i want to buy a SSP 800, but with recent renos and other factors I dont have 8k I can drop at the moment. The problem is seeing my 5100 out on the open on its own creates a huge hole for a class processor

    Currently I have a rotel 1069...

    Moving to Rotel
    by Allend
I want to replace my Denon 5600 receiver with a Rotel 1067. I have NHT 2.9's for my mains AC2 for the center and 1.5's for surrounds. I use 2 Parasound 2200 amps in my system now. One drives my L/R speaker and the other ones drives my center and 16-46 SVS. The other two channels I run off of the 5600....

    Hi all:

I will purchase a pair of B&W CM4 speakers and a CM series central channel. I live in an apartment right now so don't have the space to setup 5.1 but I will move into a house in next two year. I am also going to a Rotel receiver or pre/pro/amp combo. My candidate choices are:...

    RSX-1067 and bi-amping front speakers
    by Hap35
I am, reluctantly, going to have to sell my Rotel RSP-1066/RMB-1075 combo and need to downsize, all due to space considerations in a new house. I like the Rotel sound and it works well with my speakers, NHTs. I am looking hard at the RSX-1067 receiver, as space-wise it will fit in the space available...
