I just purcahsed a good pair of N803's and upgrading my Denon at 95 wt's a channel to Marantz at 140 but still worried about whether a seperate amp such as Rotel 1077 would be meaningfull or necessary. Any experience with the 9600? Know I am trying to learn so be simple in response if possible. Thanks Oh! primary application is HT for now..

I doubt you would be able to get a significant jump in perfomance, as I think the Rotel is one step up from the Marantz, but imho not worth the price. To really do justice to the N803, I'd recommend a bigger jump, definitely to separates, but the key is a good amount of clean power, in the 300wpc range.
