FPM Series for rears in HT setup

    Hi all,

Anyone using these speakers for rear surround in a HT setup?

Front end will be 705s with HTM7

Thinking of using FPM6 on either side of rear wall, inline with sofa.

    What does everyone think?

    Regards,

    Julie

I have a full FPM setup for my home theater. I'm using FPM 4s for my surounds and they do the job very well. There is no difference between the FPM 4 and FPM 5, but the FPM 6 has bigger drivers.

Personally because im so happy with mine i dont think yo could go wrong with getting a pair.
    What color are you thinking?

      Hi Vancouver,

Was thinking silver on silver. What colours are yours?

How did you direct these speakers? My concerns is that they will be inline with our sofa and not pointed at the listener.

Just toying with the idea atm - they look great but not sure I can get them to work in our room

      Cheers,

      Julie

I have piano black and get as many compliments on the way they look as the way they sound.

I understand your concern and can give you two perspectives.

        1. Surounds dont need to be facing directly at you. Unlike any other B&W speaker the FPM are designed to be sound good next to or right against a wall. In my situation they are not pointed directly right at the listener because they are on the wall pointing straight and not toe in.

        2. You can get stands for the FPMs which alow you to point the speakers right at the listener. Stands are made by B&W and look great.

No one ever posts about the FPM series, so thought I would in case someone is considering them or is curious. I am using FPMs for a full HT setup and went from 601 S3 to get there.

I was using FPM 6s for my mains, a FPM 4 for the centre and had two 601s left from my last set up I was...

I currently have a full FPM set up with B&W PV1 sub powered by a rotel rsx 1067. I have to admit its a sweet sound system. As many of you know regardless of how good your system sounds, and with out even hearing something better you always think of ways to improve.

          Sofa eats low bass?
          by yfei
          Hi,

My setup is 2 B&W N803, no subwoofer. The sound was great, full of bass.
I just added a 3 seat mid size leather sofa to the center of the room. Suddenly all the low bass disappeared!
The room is about 100~120 inch wide, the sofa is 72 inch wide, the distance from...

          FPM vs Mini Theatre B&W's
          by Rob72
I am looking for a small speaker setup for my new Pioneer Plasma. I need something small as my wife would like it to be non obtrusive.

What would you guys choose if you had to with either

          5 Mt-1's and a PV-1 sub (essentially B&W's mini theatre package)

Well I guess I going to have to head something up on these speakers. The lack of reviews, and information on these speakers is amazing especially when they are such good speakers. I did a search for "FPM" on this site and many other and came up with almost nothing (absolutely nothing on this...
