Matching speakers for Rosenut B&W CM-4s

    Hi,

I bought a pair of Rosenut B&W CM-4s. I bought them because in auditions I felt they sounded better than the 603's and they looked a lot better. Speakers are furniture after all. I really like my spakers and now am ready to complete my home theatre system. However, since the CM series is discontinued I don't know what to do.

Should I sell my CM-4's and upgrade to the 700 series? Or should I try to buy second hand CM series speakers. There don't seem to be that many on the market. Is it okay to use different model speakers in the same system? If so, should I use my CM-4's as my rears or my fronts?

    Thanks.
    Jay.

Jay, congratulations on your purchase. When I did my research, everything pointed me to the 600 series because it was a better value, but when I auditioned them it was like night and day and the salesman predicted I would choose the CM 4's and I did purchase them with a CMC as a center channel and CM2's for the surrounds. I have had them for two years now and am extremely happy with them. But you always want to improve on what you have so Ive been looking into the 700 series but the only problem is that the center channel in the series supposedly doesn't match sound wise and the series is being replaced by the XT series.
So if I was you I would either try to find the matching CM series speakers used that you like so much or look into the XT series. I hope this helps

More finish options on new 800 series
      by fatcat
How does everyone feel about the finish options of the 800 series? Rosenut is gorgeous but quite difficult to match. Cherry is nice, but if you have dark wood or walnut furniture (as many do), it clashes. Personally, I love the color of walnut and wish the new 800 series came in a walnut veneer....

Quad L-series speakers need matching receiver
      by Chuck
Hey Guys, I have the Quad 22Ls, center and 11Ls and recently purchased a Rotel 1056 to replace my not-so-great sony. The rotel hasn't broken in / filled out yet, and I'm about halfway through my dealer's 7 day return policy. There's a thread already started regarding my dislikes of the 1056 ( http:...

CM Series Discontinued - What Else ?

I don't see much info in the CM series but the thing is the wife!! You know the story, clean lines their just the right size & all that. Anyway I could swing the 700 series if I really want but then I loose points plus grand kids tweaking the tweaters & what else.

      Pooling time,

Which color do you like best for your 800 series? Black, Red Cherry, Cherry or Rosenut.

Since the new Rosenut color quite different than the old Red Cherry I post this as two different color.

Rosenut of 800S/D vs. Rosewood of older 800 Nautilus line
      by boarder1995
Ok, I'm in the hunt for 800 series speakers and am consider a used pair of Nautilus line units, but am concerned about finish colors. Black ash is easy to match up, but what about the Rosenut current 800 color versus the older Rosewood color in the Nautilus line? I may just go black to keep it simple,...
