    Help with SCMS

    Hello all,

I am new here but long time lurker. Have a question about B&W SCMS speakers. I own a pair for rear channel use and love them. However, I recently moved and the new place does not have walls that allow the mounts to be installed. Anyone have any stand suggestions for these speakers or any other ideas?

    Thanks

      Now thats commitment!

You may need to consider selling them and buying an in ceiling solution.

OmniMount sells a speaker mount (Model 30.0 WB) that works with the B&W SCM1. I assume it would work with the SCMS. They are approx $55 a piece.

You could probably arrainge it in such a way as to hang it from the ceiling. Keep in mind that the SCMS was designed to be close mounted to the wall so suspending it from the ceiling will change the tonality slightly. I suspect the close proximity to the wall gives it a bit more weight (bass) than it would have suspended in mid-air.

The omni mount mentioned does not work with the SCMS, which has a diff. mounting location... you have to use the stock brackets... or adapt an omnimount bracket.

Installing SCMS to side of room with no wall
              by speakerboy
Hi, I have some SCMS speakers that I'll have installed in a couple of weeks and one side of the room has no wall. I'd like some suggestions on how to best mount this so that it doesn't look too goofy-looking. Currently, the installer is thinking of using an 18" pole that mounts to the ceiling...

OK, first off this is not an advertisement, I really am looking for some input.

I bought an Epson S1 and have been thrilled with the unit. Great picture and a great price. I wanted to mount it in my home and looked online for ceiling mounts.....man, they were expensive! There was no...

              Hey, guys (and gals)!

If you were planning on using B&W SCMS's (wall-mount) for the fronts and an HTM4S as a center, what would you use as surrounds?

My couch is along the back wall and cannot be moved anymore into the room (wife factor). I would need to either do...

              Ceiling mounts for Microbes?

              Hello all,

I am in the process of wiring up a media room for my sister and I am having a terrible time finding some inexpensive ceiling mounts that can handle the Microbes. They weigh about 10lbs each. I know most people here do not use wimpy 2lbs surround sound speakers so what do...
