    Amp with B&W 800 Series

I have the following B&W speaker setup for my HT (new and waiting to be put into gear!):
    - Main: 803D(x2)
    - Center: HTM2D
    - Rear: 805S(x2)
    - Sub: Velodyne DD-12

In looking for a suitable amp to drive these speakers, I was considering the Lexicon LX-7. The 803D speakers are rated at 500W with a normal impedance of 8ohm (minimum 3 ohms). Since the word is that these speakers are "power hungry", I was considering bridging the main channels into the 803D speakers to provide 400W. Does anyone have any experience with this setup? I'm particularly interested if the LX-7 would potentially shut down due to a heat issue, or whether the amp will go into protection/shut down at higher volumes given the lower impedance? (The LX-7 specs state the minimum speaker impedance should be 4 ohms when bridged and the 803Ds have a minimum impedance of 3 ohms).

I fully understand the need to keep this forum focused on the B&W speakers and certainly will attempt to keep it that way. My focus is on driving the speakers and I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with the setup recommended above with respect to the impedance implications of the speakers? Also, "words of advice" and other recommendations are very much welcomed.

    Appreciate the help.

    Nick
