I have 704's on hardwood floors. I'd like to know if slightly adjusting the front spikes higher will help reduce the brightness and improve soundstage? Please note the spikes are on metal pucks. THINKS!
Tilting Spikes to tame bright 704s on wooden floor?

Sheldon,
Try it and see - if there is an effect - it will most likely be very minor.
I would recommend some nice rugs on the floor between you and the speakers - this will usually tame the sound a lot more.

I too struggled with harshness with the 704s in a lively room when I was using that configuration. Try placing rugs and other soft object at the first reflection point (find using a mirror on walls, floor and ceiling) This will soften the harshness significantly. Although I was a skeptic at first, the ROOM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT IN THE SYSTEM!- Bottom
