Apart from the aesthetics (which is worth the purchase alone in my opinion) apparently they do make some difference - I haven't listened to any B&W's with these transplanted to date but would imagine it is a subtle difference...but if you are an enthusiast, hey why not try them anyway seeing as they are so cheap, thanks to Caleb!

stupid question, what is this al about? Diference between Nautilus and 800 series? Diference between sig and 800 (don't think so, that pic is no sig).

        JCL,
If you have been following this forum, you would realise that I have manufactured the aluminium phase plug as used in the signature series for substitution into "ordinary" 800 series mid range drivers.

It gives an improvement in sound (see georgev report) and also (IMHO) looks better too.

So not such a stupid question.

                B&W 800 History Pricing
                by Race Car Driver
I think there needs to be a sticky thread showing this history of the 800 series pricing. Now I dont remember or have all the models/prices/dates so feel free to contribute. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me. I will start with the Nautilus series.

                Sig 805 or 805S??
                by tboooe
I have the possibility of getting either. Does the new 805S incorporate all of the technology of the Sig 805? Unfortunately, my local dealer does not have Sig 805 for me to listen to. I have listened to the 805S and love them. So if love the 805s will the Sig 805 be better???

                Anyone...

                Questions about Sig 805
                by tboooe
Hi, I am curious if people here prefer the Sig 805 to the new 805S. I am considering getting one or the other.

Also, does the Sig use the same stands as the N805 and 805S? I can get a really good deal on these stands and was wondering if they would work with the Sig 805.

So is my Sig 805 upgrade a bad idea?
                by luszer
After review of the press release, appears the 805S will incorporate many of the upgrades found in the Sig 805 for $1000 less?

Or is the only improvement with the release of the 805s, the curve cabinet being formed from a single piece of ply vs. the seam on the back of the old 805?...
