I understand your reaction, but a mains filter and a power regenerator are two different things.
A filter filters the incoming signals and puches a filtered signal through.
A power regenerator uses the incoming mains to load the batteries, at that point a completely new 'cleaned and stable' sinus is generated.

They are very very nice!!! Only thing I noticed with them, I think, is that they had a slight boxiness to the vocals that surprised me. To me the marlan head with B&W definitely takes that away. Now, having heard the Nautilus... I would've loved to have had those. I still want to hear Vivid Audio's Giya speakers (maker of the Nautilus design's company)... because I've heard very good things about Vivid if you like the Nautilus and want better...
