I have a MF3.2 which I use to drive my 703s. I've always thought it had plenty of power for my use which is mostly 2 channel listening. I've also used the home theater byplass before I started converting to multi-channel. I wish my current rig had that option.Originally posted by londonchrisAnyone got much experience with Musical Fidelity? Do you think I would notice a significant improvement moving up to a Musical Fidelity A3.2 Integrated?
Thanks!
As you probably know, the 3.2 is 115w per channel, so looks like a good power increase from your Arcam. But, not having heard the Arcam, I can't offer an opinion about how much difference you'd hear. As I'm sure most will say, always best to listen to both if possible. But feel free to PM me if you have questions or I can help as you consider the MF. In fact, if you were in the states and did decide you wanted one, I'd make you a deal on mine as it has been packed up in a box for the last year now that I've gone multi-channel. Happy shopping!- Bottom

Hey guys, new to the server. Pretty happy when I found it. Love bowers and wilkins. Some people on here have some dream lands for me!! Loving to see the grills off!!
But for now i'm just looking at getting some 686 book shelf speakers.
I'm going to be setting them up with just an auxilery from the computer to the amp.
(games/movies)
Does anyone know on any other speakers, don't have to be bookshelf, any at all is fine. Might be looking at second hand. Anywhere under a grand would be awesome!
If you have any opinion on what would be good for money with just a 2.0 system that would be awesome. Also what kind of 2 channel amp would I be looking at buying to drive them?
Also, the mm1's arn't for me, just discluding them from the table.
Thanks guys, So glad to find the forum!
Just for your curiosity, going to get a set of 5.0 683's in the hopefully 'near' future with a Velodyne Sub.- Bottom

Don't worry, not that anyone has already read my last comment or not.
I've scored myself a pair of DM 601 S2 for $330 off ebay. I reckon that's a good deal since from what I've gatherd the new equivalent to this is the 685's and they are $900.
So I think I did pretty well.
I am looking for a 2 channel amp to drive them. what's people's opinion on getting a second hand Rotel RA-810A AMP Stereo Integrated Amplifier, I've seen a one for $150, would that be worth it?
Thanks.- Bottom

i stumbled across this thread by accident and couldn't believe my eyes. just had to register and contribute.
i have:
2x 603s
1x 16 inch energy subwoofer
powered by Yamaha Rxv1700
there's also a Pioneer BPD LX52 bluray player which is amazing.
i've owned them for nearly 4 years now i think, my previous place had my hometheater in the living room but i got sick of other people using it so it is now in my bedroom with my pc's. i have audio technica ADH700 headphones plugged into the amp if i need to be quiet :P forgive the mess in my room in these pics.
im pretty happy with the setup, im 25 yrs old at the moment and bought these 4yrs ago. so maybe when im well off i will upgrade to the 800 series. heres hoping.

Thank you!Originally posted by audioquesoRoDa, that's a great looking room!
The picture on the wall, the table, the curtains... the whole combination works. Very nice! What are your components? And what speaker cable are you using in this picture?
Looks great. Congrats!
The components are
Rega P5 with groovetracer mods
Ortofon Rondo Blue
Rotel Michi RHQ-10 RIAA
Logitech Squeezebox Touch
Rega DAC
Audionet SAM V2 integrated amplifier
...and the speakercables are Harmonic Technology Pro9+
The B&W 805s didn't quite work for me in my living room, sad to say...
So I went back to floorstanders, and no B&Ws this time

The 805s were a big step up from the CM9!Originally posted by DmantisSo what are your impressions with the switch? I'm assuming there is going to be some kind of musical sub added to the system?
Looks beautiful man, really nice.
Incredible soundstaging, clean and precise sound.
Able to handle really high volume without sounding harsh.
The only problem was in the bass region, not enough weight.
I didn't want to add subwoofers, so they were replaced by floorstanders.. again

Hey Bring,
Very nice, a quickie suggestion if I may, allow a greater distance between those mono-blocs, as they have the potential to contaminate the signal of each other when placed in close proximity of each other.
I've tried this before with a number of mono-blocs and there is a subtle yet obvious difference to be heard.
best regards- Bottom

by ChangelingI was getting ready to buy a new TV, so I started investigating what was hot and what was on the horizon. I have heard (recent) arguments for LCD/Plasma/DLP.
So I went to Best Buy/Circuit City/AV stores and took extended looks for myself.
The following is how I feel about what I looked...-

by Chris DI took a bunch of pics of my theater entrance and bar area, now that it's been (mostly) cleaned up and organized so much more. You see how everything is very light colored, with little decoration right now? I'd really like to change that, which is why I was thinking making/buying some entry signs...-
