Very well done, Lee. It shows a sense of style.

While a few here have posted their "modest" setups featuring 800's and so on, I thought I'd make my first post a couple of pics of my humble 600S3 setup in my temp apartment... :B

i just love the look of the sorrento 6 series, especially with the grills off. i have a pair of 601s3 in my bedroom and just love looking at them.
just out of curiosity, is your listening position low? to me it looks like the front speakers are a little low?- Bottom

The futon is kinda average height for a couch. The 602s tho are on pretty low stands but have a very slight angle, so they angle the speaker upward slightly. they aim right at the listening position right at head height. i like them and reckon they work pretty well. They're spiked and filled with sand too.- Bottom

Center channel speaker in Picture
McGlentosh;
What did you put under your center channel to get it to lean forward that much? I have a HTM2D on a shelf and would like to have it lean forward more than I have it but it slides off the shelf.- Bottom

Chelseaforever,
how does the 805 sounds as center? How does it compare with the center speakers (HTM)? I see many people actually recommend this.
Claude D D,
I envy you! After moving back to Thailand, I have to go to local gym which is very good. But with traffic, it adds another 2 hour to my life on the road. Ahh.. I miss home gym. With that good system, working out is much more fun!- Bottom

Here's my setup. I have had the 802Ds now for about 1 month now. I am still using the Revel Voice center speaker. I have the HTM 2D but have not had time to set it up yet. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. Overall, it's a pretty good sounding setup but far from perfect. There is always room for more upgrade.
I'll be hosting a couple of B&W fans in couple of weeks to demo the system and if there are any local members in the San Francisco area that are interested in the demo, let me know. I can accommondate about three members.
Amps - Krell FPB 350 MCX for LCR
Proceed AMP5 for side and rear
CD Player - Wadia 861 SE
Processor - EAD Signature 8000A
Preamp - Pass X1
Display - Fujitsu 50" plasma
DVD -Sony ES 9000 and OPPO
Power conditioner - PS Audio P600
Speakers are a mixed of Revel and B&W for the time being. The rear speakers are Revel Embrace and M20. I also have a pair of Revel Studios for now.
Subs - Revel B15 and Velodyne HGS 15II
Cables - Audioquest Amazon, Cheetah, Everest, Dragon and Shunyata cords.Last edited by krellfan; 16 October 2005, 01:53 Sunday.- Bottom

Somphon,
I have only compared the 803Ds to the Revel Studios side by side. They are both very good speakers but each has its weakness and strength. Despite the diamond tweeter, the differnces between thse two speakers is in the mid range and bass.
The 802D has very nice high frequeny extension and overall is slightly warmer sounding in the mid range than the Studios. The 802D is also a little louder at the same volume setting as the Studios. This is expected since the 802D has sensitivity of around 90 dB/w vs. 86 for the Studios.
The Revel Studios is a bit cooler sounding in the mid range but the bass is a little tighter and seems to have better control of the low end. Bass from the 802D seems slighly boomy in comparison. The high frequency response is similar on both speakers.
The overall build quality goes to the Studios. The Studio has better fit and finish. I had a couple of minor quality issues with the 802D right out of the box.- Bottom

Wow azsyno!
Your room / setup looks great! Gotta like those DM602 (S3?)!
Just for fun: max those DM602's by powering them with your soon to arrive RB1080 before you connect your 703's. I'm curious what those 602's are capable of when powered by a beauty such as the RB1080...
Have fun!Marantz SR7005, UD5007; B&W SCMS, Nautilus SCM1; Velodyne SPL-1200R- Bottom

My 602s, two are powered by the 1080, the other two are powered by the 1095...
It's pure bliss I tell you (until my whole 800 series setup arrives at some point when I can afford them.......)
The 602s really are a phenominal speaker for their size/price point.
Azsyno, what kind of TV is that, I swear I've seen it before...through my looking of TVsDigital Audio makes me Happy.

If you search the forum, you will find that the RCD-1072 is great. The other option would be to get a Benchmark DAC1 between your receiver and DVD. You could then also use the DAC1 for digital TV, play consoles, or any other digital sound source.- Bottom

Ok... here's the new image. I'll make some comments in a new thread on the install issues we encountered while setting up the Rotel 1080, but otherwise we're really happy with the way things turned out. We would have selected a veneer choice other than black - especially in this house with all the woodwork, but we tend to move a lot and never before (and probably never after), will we live in a home with wooden floors. The system looks good in Black - the 703's are especially good looking, and the sound is dynamic and warm.
Anyway, here's the pic. Negotiate for a big screen and have it installed next weekend. :-)

That looks REALLY REALLY nice azsyno. You have a beautiful home. One tip, when you take a picture with a movie playing... pause the movie. lol Nice job though.B&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

Great looking setup azsyno! I was wondering if it would be an advantage to move the center speaker to the top shelf. It seems that would move the sound closer to the screen and shift the first reflection point from the hardwood floor farther out on to the rug, where it would be damped.Emotiva UPA-700 Amp
