    Hi TomScrut

I understand your reaction, but a mains filter and a power regenerator are two different things.
A filter filters the incoming signals and puches a filtered signal through.
A power regenerator uses the incoming mains to load the batteries, at that point a completely new 'cleaned and stable' sinus is generated.

    Kind regards

I realise that, but my concern was something that *could* apply to both where there could be limitations from a current perspective? I don't know I am just trying to understand why there might be a difference and why it benefits class d amps.

Hi Marco, Thanks for the explanation. My living room has minimal acoustical treatment so I chose for Lyngdorf and this combined with the 800 Diamond and 2 DB1's results in a great sound experience. Of course we all have 'different' ears and tastes.

          Hi Jeepers

Which Lyngdorf are you talking about? That should indeed sound great!
About two weeks ago I finished testing the new Lyngdorf TDAI2170: what a nice new product.

You are quiet right about the ears and tastes.

For me I created a recognizable sound to which I can easily refer to.
When in 'test mode' I hear differences immediately...coming from speakers, amps, cables,... and that's what I needed.
In this case the means serve the purpose.

          Kind regards

            Hi Marco,

My previous setup consisted of a TDAI2200 with 802 Diamonds and 2 JL Audio F113's. I upgraded to a DPA-1 and a Millennium with 800 Diamonds but without subs. At certain moments I really missed the sound experience of the subs so I purchased 2 DB1's. I chose the DB1's because of their trigger input, positive reviews and my previous B&W subs never produced any hum whereas the F113's regularly hummed. The hum was not extreme but I am rather sensitive to that so I got distracted too many times and didn't enjoy it anymore. Now I am a happy camper.

I wish more subs had trigger inputs. Actually I wish more gear in general did.

                My latest iteration...

The latest pics of my (now) 2.1 system. Although maybe not an ideal layout, they do fit nicely into a built-in alcove in my family room.

                  Brad;
Nice looking setup. As you mentioned, with the alcove and the tile, it may not be the ideal setup. It sure looks nice though. I have my front setup in a similar alcove. It's not nearly as nice looking. I had some severe peaks in the base response but installed a couple of home made base traps in the corners and placed another on the back wall behind my rack and it made a world of difference.

Thanks, Stoney. I've been trying to sell my matching center (HTM4S), but my plan B is to keep it and suspend a shelf below the top part of the alcove to support it above the tv. Don't want to wall-mount the tv, and it's high enough as it is.

The HTM2 is much bigger and heavier, but it sounds great. I think I'm getting a fuller sound from the center channel. I'm going to redo the Audyssey room correction on my MX121 today.

After recalibrating with Audyssey, then watching two Blu-ray movies and some TV programs and listening to some music, I really like the HTM2.

I am in the same boat like you and I'm wondering if I missing something with the HTM4D, you could perceive a huge improvement with this bigger central?

                                  Hi Mates,
i just found this great site!
There are soooo many perfect Setups online here… but i just felt in love with Marco Lisi's (Home?)Cinema… never seen before such a great stuff!;x(;x(

But now i like to introduce myself a littel bit… my name is Klaus, i live in Upperaustria (so please excuse my bad english), i am 38 years old an love B&W since i heard them for the first time some years ago.
I had some B&W Setups before (at beginning 600s3… 705… HTM 7, then adding 703 and ASW 700) and since about two years there are two black-ash 802D in our livingroom.
I have no Centerspeaker at time, but like to have the HTM2D one day. No sub cause of consideration to my friendly neighbors, Rearspeaker no B&W - but very good ASW Cantius 212 (German Speakers).

At the Moment, my big Ladies are only on Rotel Amps… RSX-1058 and RB-1080… but at time i like to change… but everything is sooo expensive in our hobby!

I'd like to show you my Setup… but the Quality of the picture is terrible (iphone 4 cam) - and if you ask you "what the f... are these kind of colours!" i ve to tell you - i ve a loving wife, and i did the mistake to let her search out the colors…! But in real it all looks (a little bit) better than on the picture… i swear! :B

I think the HTM2 gives me a fuller center channel sound than the HTM4 did.

lol, welcome to the forum Klaus, lovely setup you have! Very stylish for sure! I like the board behind the TV. Is the woman picture in the corners some kind of acoustic treatment panels?

The lady is printed by myself on flagmaterial, the board behind the plasma is also selfmadeprinted.

When i take a look at your equipment... Hmmm... I would like to have it, too! Hope i can get a htm2d soon..., but first i need some new electronic, my rb-1080 is broken two weeks ago waiting to get it back from repair...

The Statue is from sideshowtoy.com They sell out pretty fast and usually have to wait almost two years to get. My kids love them in our bonus room.

                                                            Upgraditius

There hasn't been much action in this thread for some time so I fought I would send some photos of my upgrades (see my old system on p.116 of this thread). Over the past year, i traded my 803 Diamonds in on 802 Diamonds which, of course, necessitated trading my Rotel equipment in for Classe (one thing leads to another). My system is now driven by a SSP-800, CA5300 and CA2300. I still have the 805d2 surrounds and one DB-1 sub. I also acquired an OPPO BDP105 and 65XBR900A. I think i'm done the upgrades (for now).

Looking great. I like that you have your HTM2 elevated higher than the HTM stand allows for. Having it closer to the mid and tweeter of the 802's should give a smoother transition across the front.

Going to audio shows definitely makes you realize that the 802Di are expensive...but you can pay a LOT more and get a lot less audio quality....

So it keeps re-enforcing my decision that I got a heck of a speaker for what I could've spent. My only issue now is I'd really like to upgrade to Tidal... those speakers are just flat out jaw dropping.

I not know how classe are repairing its products in other countries different to USA or Canada but I think that they need be careful when choose its oficial dealers.

Only thing I noticed with them, I think, is that they had a slight boxiness to the vocals that surprised me. To me the marlan head with B&W definitely takes that away. Now, having heard the Nautilus... I would've loved to have had those. I still want to hear Vivid Audio's Giya speakers (maker of the Nautilus design's company)... because I've heard very good things about Vivid if you like the Nautilus and want better...

Luckily, the CA 5300 runs cold in the cabinet with the fan pushing the heat out the back.
