    HP Crossover for B&W 804

What is the consenus/opinions of using a high pass crossover when running the 804s with a subwoofer for 2.1 (stereo).

If it is recommended, at what frequency? Options of 50, 80, or 110Hz. 50, would be my choice based on this floorstander.

Or am I better off, just running the 804s at full signal and using the LP filter on the sub?

anybody actively biamping 804 or 803?

I'm looking into actively biamping my stereo setup, meaning adding an active crossover after the preamp so to send just 350 Hz and up to a tube amp and into the mid/hi posts in my 804S, send only 350-50 Hz to a SS amp and into the woofer posts in the 804S, and send up to 50 Hz to my REL Storm III sub...

804s compaired to old 804, amplification
    by Holland
    Hi,

As you can see I am pretty new here, but not new to B&W speakers since I owned a couple of these (p6, 601s3). I also listend (dreweled) enough at the 804/802/800 in my audio shops. Since i didnt feel the 804 was worth the investment over my old p6 I never got them.
