That doesn't surprise me... they were a step up from the 600, but for ONLY A BIT MORE, it made more sense to go with 700... especially from a resale point of view... on audiogon, you see the 700 series all the time (and the old NT series) for good resale... but hardly ever the CM... so from a cost recovery point of view, it often COST LESS in the long run to buy the "more expensive" 700 series... plus you got much better sound from the 700 or NT series... the main drawback of the CM series from a HT point of view was the center channel... it just didn't have the proper alignemnt of drivers for the best dispersion (tweeter should be above midrange... not in the middle of 2 midranges to each side).

they were a step up from the 600
Funny, I've owned both and they never sounded like a step-up from the 600's,they are better than the 600's What's next N803 is a step-up from the 700's

on audiogon, you see the 700 series all the time (and the old NT series) for good resale... but hardly ever the CM
It must be a pattern, that the 700's and NT's are underachievers when it comes to performance, no pun intended. :W

Looks like the CM series is back on the B&W website! Maybe the powers that be were reading this thread...
