    Cheap tweak

Would like to share a cheap trick that potentially could yield something in your home installation. People tend to buy expensive feet and other devices for de-coupling their speaker and gear.
So have had this idea for some time, but finally got around to test it and must say that it does work pretty well.
The idea is very simply. Go down to your local sporting good store that have gear for ice hockey and buy ice hockey pucks. Super cheap and if you, as I, purchase the junior versions then the size is even right.

No guarantee for their effectiveness in your system, but worked well for me. Total cost for 3 pieces where around USD 6 - and I am sure you could get them cheaper than that...

After hearing that they work well I picked up some at various garage sales. Haven't tried them yet, but I got several (10 or more?) for just a couple bucks.

        Cheap tweak - better sound!
        by stantheman2
Want a cheap tweak that can really improve the sound in your overall system? Buy some aerosol contact cleaner at Fry's or some other electronics store and use it to clean all your connections and connectors - speakers, pre-pro/receiver, amp, DVD or CD player, etc. I do this every 4 to six months and...

i was thinking how a good and not cheap component has a cheap cable from transport to the board.

all of us have a pc and know about its cables, not?

we know the difference between an 40 pin and 80 pin ide cable, the last one is shielded 40 pins+40 to ground and all of us...

        Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

Got this one for Christmas today, and it was given to me in Blu-Ray format. This is currently ranked as one of the top three Blu-Ray movies for picture quality with Blackhawk Down and Corpse Bride.

Fairly straightforward here, to summarize, the picture quality really is the BEST I have...

        CDP-300 "tweak"...
        by kpodolski
I've owned my CDP-300 for several months and am extremely happy with its performance and sound quality.

My only issue was with the optical transport. Now, there is nothing wrong with the Teac DV-28SL itself but with some of the "noise" it makes that can be heard from my listening...
