Ice Station Zebra now on blu-ray

This great action adventure film stars Rock Hudson, Patrick McGoohan and Ernest Borgnine. It's based on a novel by Alistair MacLean and directed by John Sturges.

Ice Station Zebra sits at the top of the world. Originally a weather station it is now the center of international intrigue and guards a secret that could change the balance of world power forever. America's only hope lies with the nuclear sub Tigerfish, who must get to Ice Station Zebra before the Russians.

Rock Hudson stars as the sub commander, McGoohan is the top British spy in charge of the expedition and Borgnine is the Russian defector on board as assistant to McGoohan. This is 2 and 1/2 hours of action and suspense. If you have never seen it, you are missing a winner.

I saw this twice when it was released in the theater back in 1968 and only had it on laserdisc. Unfortunately the disc developed laser rot so I hadn't seen it for some time until now. The picture quality on blu is fabulous and even the audio is good considering the age of the film. I am so happy to have this back in my collection again. :T :T :T :T

I just checked. 514 movies in my queue. I think my plan has 3 movies a month, so that's 171 months. (14+ years) But I also cross movies off the list from catching them on TV or whatever, so that speeds up the process.

... but then of course I keep adding movie that are made or find out about, just like this thread, so the queue never really drops down.

Got this one for Christmas today, and it was given to me in Blu-Ray format. This is currently ranked as one of the top three Blu-Ray movies for picture quality with Blackhawk Down and Corpse Bride.

Fairly straightforward here, to summarize, the picture quality really is the BEST I have...

              Docking station
              by gross30
Just a quick question, I'm looking for an Ipod docking station for an x-mas gift and was wondering if anyone had heard or has any knowledge of the "tube" docking station. I seen one on display but never had a chance to listen to it. Are they worth the $$$ or not ??

              Station Presets
              by freeworld
I have a Rotel RX-1052 receiver, and all in all it's a very nice, great sounding unit. And I do listen to FM with some frequency, so this was my easiest option. I am now on my second unit. The first one kept losing the station presets when we had a power outage/interuption. Assured that a new one would...

Internet Radio - What's Your Favorite Station?
              by Blindamood
Okay, time for a new thread...I've been listening to a lot of Internet radio lately (via my Logitech Transporter and Duet), and wanted to share one of my favorites.

When I was in college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, there was a cutting-edge alternative rock station (97X) that...

              Live from Union Station
              by JonMarsh
If you have any interest in good live music, especially vocal and acoustic instruments (but amplified, granted), you just may want to check out Alison Krauss and Union Station Live.

It's available on CD, and on SACD Hybrid, which includes a DSD down converted CD layer, so it will play...
