Has anyone heard of this and know where to get more information on the product?

Phil, since you are here in the Phoenix area, when I get the modified DTC-100 back in about 10 days, and hopefully a modified Sony 7700, both with the Cinematrix/MSB scaler mods, you are welcome to come over and AB them with me, against my Dwin Transcanner setup, if you like.
