I was reading quite a bit about this player and comments from owners. Seems that for a low priced machine, it is performing well and playing everything thrown at it without glitches. It is supposedly faster on start up than my Panasonic BD30. But it's good to know that this 2nd generation player from Philips is faring well because you can get it at well below $400. Most prices I've seen come in around $349USD or less. Its cabinet looks suspiciously like the Magnavox I've seen at my local Walmart, so it may be made by Funai, as is the Magnavox. Interestingly enough, the Magnavox here is priced at $299. If I find out it is basically the same machine as the Philips I will be tempted to buy it as my second player.
