Didn't see your response. Was just responding to you asking for my source. If down the line the PS3 is able to bitstream, then apart from aesthetic reasons, in terms of BD playback, it would be hard to beat for sure. Unless Oppo release a wicked player w/ DVD-A, SACD etc.A camera, passport, good music, good food and good company is all I need.- Bottom

I currently own a Rotel RSP-1068 and am considering a PS3 for Blu-Ray playback. It's my understanding the PS3 can now decode DTS-HD MA and send it over HDMI or Optical as a LPCM uncompressed signal after a firmware update released in late April of 2008.
Is this true?...-

I see that some blueray discs have DTS MA audio whilst others have DD HD audio.
I was told by a salesperson that the PS3 does not process DTS MA, does anyone know if it does ?

The PS3 sound settings are set (Settings->Sound setting->Audio Output Settings ->HDMI-Automatic->Setting List, and all options are ticked off).
