    Kudos to Sound and Vision

A bright spot in the relative sea of average HT magazines you see nowadays. I read several things that really were shockers to see a magazine write up in the mass market area.

3 most important aspects of an HT aimed at the beginner!:

    1. Accoustics
    2. Speakers
    3. Receiver

Then they say, use Avia or VE to calibrate it all. Excellent.

Seems like there was something else I read, but can't think what it was at the moment...

But the accoustics as 1st really surprised me. It seems that the mass market folks are learning at an accelerated level now. They MUST be reading htguide now, haha. :B

Accoustics in a small room with tile flooring.
    by tgrossner
OK next question. Accoustics: What are some of the tips and tricks to get better sound out of a room that has concrete/ceramic tile flooring? is there something to put down besides carpet or something? Today I was in a home improvement store and found 3x3ft sq "tiles" of a hard rubbery type...

Its very odd. Normally the phases are such that its push-push and not push pull - the push pull causing the cancelaltions ... so I am a bit confused why...

RSP-1098 Review in The Perfect Vision
    by viji
Looks like The Perfect Vision magazine carries an full fledged equipment report on the RSP-1098 in their latest issue (Nov/Dec 2003). I haven't received the copy yet. Hopefully, the review would be more in-depth than the one featured in Sound & Vision magazine.

    Of course, the reviews...

January Issue of The Perfect Vision is the last
    by George Bellefontaine
I was a long time subscriber to this once great magazine. Back in its hey day under the publishing ownership of Harry Pearson, it was one of the best in its field. It not only dealt with the beginnings of home theater, the laserdisc and widescreen , but liked to look at the technical side of things,...

T/S Measurement Question - Delta Mass
    by Amphiprion
    Hey guys,

For those of you that use delta mass to measure T/S on large woofers (10", 12", and 15") what would you say the 'ballpark' mass is that you use? I know it will vary due to suspension compliance to get the desired ~30% shift. I usually use nickels (as in five cents)...
