    Henry Kloss dead at 72

You can read the story at:
    www.tvinsite.com

I didn't realize Henry was responsible for introducing projection tv to the consumer.

    Kloss Novabeam.

I used to own a front projector based on that design. There's still some people that say it was well ahead of it's time- particularly in regards to the Y/C seperator, and some other basic details.

The curved screen was a pain in the butt in some ways, but the silvered surface was pretty bright for it's time.

I don't know why, but I thought he was older than that, at least ten years or so. It's sad to see the icons of one's life passing, but a few go every year.

    Regards,

    Jon

Ahhh, the Novabeam. I recall seeing these in some taverns a few years ago. If sitting off center the screen was quite dull. I wasn't aware they put these into consumer homes.

The fifties, sixties and seventies were years that I went to the movies three or four times a week and there wasn't many that I missed. One that I did see back in 1961 but had never seen it on tape or laserdisc since is THE DEVIL AT 4 O'CLOCK and I now have it in my dvd collection.

HOUSE OF THE DEAD killed me

... with laughter

The only thing scary about this flick was watching a good actor like Jurgen Prochnow ( the Sub captain of Das Boot) trying not to look pathetic. There must be better roles for a fellow like him out there somewhere.
