    Onkyo M-501 Amp

I was at a pawn shop yesterday i saw they had a Onkyo M-501 Amp for $199 .
    This amp is 2x150 watts at 8ohm ( I think )
so does the amp double when run at 4 ohm to 2x 300 ???? Or I am I wrong about that ?
I still trying to find more info on this amp too.

Tibor, few amps on the lower end double wattage when going from 8 to 4 ohms. more like 150 might make 200-225 for this sort of amp. But not 300. Also, some lower scale amps are not rated to 4 ohms.

I hope you bought it. I use (2) Onkyo M-508 "Grand Integra" amps. Built like a tank.

Decision about Rotel Onkyo amp, cd player and B&W 685, 705 speakers
            by kobestonecold
HI guys i am new here so please help. I have the mini theater MT20 but i want to build another HI-FI. Anyway, i went to my local store to have a quick listen to B&W 685 and 705 side by side. The 705 was a little bit better than 685 in term of bright and clarity. Anyway, the local store used Onkyo...

            Amp Upgrade or Repair?
            by Boaly
            Hi All,
Here's a bit of a multi part question so please bear with or skip to the next post! I've currently got an Onkyo Amp, the DS575 which I bought about 6 years ago and have been very happy with. On the weekend the centre speaker stopped pumping out speech whilst I was watching a DVD. I've...

Really simple problem - how do I plug speakers into my amp?
            by Pace3000
So, dealer came round yesterday to set up the Onkyo TX-SR805 amp and B&W 804S speakers. It was only then that he revealed that the cables were not included in the sales order, and I'd have to come in and buy some. Arguments aside, I've now just collected some Atlas Hyper Bi-Wire, with connectors...

buttkicker amp at 8 ohms anybody?
            by matt12v
Does anybody know how much power the buttkicker amp outputs @ an 8 ohm load. Is it not recommended to use it at 8 ohms? I am running it on 1 TC-2000 dual 4 ohm 15" but I dont exactly want to run 2000w rms @ 2 ohms into it lol. Any suggestions? Thanks

            Can the EP1500 amp handle the RL-p 15 d2?
            by palmtree
I mean can the amp handle 2 Ohms in stereo or 4 Ohms bridged? I know they say it can--but can it really. Does anyone have real world experience doing this? I am ready to order my Rl-p 15 but want to make sure I get the right one for my amp.
            thanks,
            Brett
