    Which cable to run shorter?

Just wondering, if I happenned to have a projector, I'd need to make a decision as to which cable will be the short run. It' either the video, say under 3' and then the audio connector would be like 9', or vice versa.

My gut tells me to have the video, a component connection, the shortest possible, more signal over 3 wires. Whereas the digital out to the receiver is just one, and I'd just use a decent cable, but not optical. Plus a shorter componet cable would probably be cheaper.

Of course this is assuming I can locate the dvd player close to the projector. Turning behind me would be a pain in using the remote. I could maybe setup a mirror system to bounce off the IR signal. Or there must be a repeater type deal I could setup.

    Thoughts?

My vote is for the short video signal...

Bouncing signals off of mirrors! 8) Cool!!! Let us know if that one works.

The digital signal will not make a difference if is a long or short run so I would try to make the video the shortest run. I have seen repeaters and think that would be the best way to go.

Yes, video shortest, and utilize my new Silver component video cables I hope to come out with very soon! I am supplier dependent though, and that's the hangup right now...

On the audio side, I have a digital signal being transmitted 12 meters over elcheapo Radio Shack cable. So 3 meters is no problem at all...

I'm hoping somebody here can help me with an idea.

Bi-wiring 804s worth it on long cable runs?
          by shep
I'll try to keep this one within the bounds of the B&W page, but can already guess it might be best answered elsewhere. Need some advice. Leaving cable brands aside, lets say I have store-bought 12 gauge cable (CL rated for in-wall), running 50 feet from my stereo/HT setup in the family room (amplifier...

How do you feed the signal to your projector?
          by P-Dub
I'm just curious. I've got a traditional HT setup, equipment rack next to the TV. If I was to get a projector, I'd have that mounted close to the back wall, or on the ceiling. But distance from my DVD player to the projector concerns me. Firstly, how long can you run component cable before signal degredation?...
