    Familiar Faces

I think I recognize just about everyone here! Lex, you're quite the magnet -just stay away from my CRT unless you're properly shielded!

This has the makings of a great forum.

Of course, I am properly shielded, and yes, I think we have the makings of a great home theater site! This is the most excited I have been in a very long time. Lots of my good friends of home theater here already. Oh wait, whats this? Another one? lol. I can hope!

      What Good Are Shielded Drivers?
      by Bruhthakuga
All I know about shielded drivers is that they minimize CRT picture distortion "but" also that they have somewhat differant T/S parameters than their faternal twin(non shielded sibling of same model). This naturally would call for some consideration when designing a crossover, but are there...

      New Dayton Drivers - 8 ohm non-shielded
      by parodielin
      Good news! OK, semi-good news...

PE has the RS 8 ohm non-shielded version AND all shielded version are on sale. I picked up four RS225s.

Are non-shielded version better than the shielded?

      Are these drop replacements?

Hi everybody. I know that dayton no longer produce shielded rs 225 but it ok for use the new rs225 without changing the crossover. Knowing, is it possible to mix shielded and non-shielded rs225 without changing the crossover ? I should have an opportunity of good price on 2 shielded rs225.

      B&W 805S's - magnetically shielded ?
      by Boozyuzi
      Hi there, new member here.

I am thinking about changing my N805's for a pair of 805S's. I know that the N805's are shielded and that the 805 sigs are not. So, does anyone know if the new 805S's are magnetically shielded ?

      thanks.

      by kgveteran
