    Radio Shack 12 gauge wire

I went yesterday to purchase some wire. After building my new Flexi, some minor room arrangement was in order.

I needed a longer wire to make the run to my recent new sub. I was using Monster XP because I had it already. But since I needed a longer length, I decided to go with a heavier wire.

I went to couple of home DIY stores but didn't like their bulk product. I then went to CC to find that the Monster 12awg was $1.60 per ft. Thought that was a little high so, off to RS.

Upon inspection, it seems to me that this is identical to the Monster and is $.61 less per ft. And the woman that helped me was very generous with the measuring.

It seems to be doing a find job. No more Monster zip for me!

Since Lex is the resident RS expert maybe he has some more insight but my belief is RS speaker wire (at least the good stuff) is made by Monster. I was able to get 16 gauge Monster cable cheaper at the audio store next door so I passed on the RS speaker wire.

I'm sure if I dig deep enough into past entries I can find some discussion on this issue. But I'd like to hear some fresh responses. Here's the deal, after years of ok audio equipment, (Sony Reciver, Sony DVD player, Sony CD player, Sony Tape Deck, Sony TV, Sony Front Channel and Subwoofer (anyone...

      Speaker wire length vs gauge?
      by gazix
I have an hk reciver (avr130) and it only puts out 50watts per channel. Because of my room, I need 25 feet for the fronts (floor to ceiling, across and down side wall...) And the fronts are routed through my polk psw202 sub then to my receiver (so the surrounds pick up as much bass as they can and the...

A couple nights ago was putting my Monster HTS5000 into a new console (Standout Designs- love it, truly first class piece) but the wire holes were not large enough for the big cable. So I took it off and reattached it. Did it at 3 AM without really paying attention and one wire is a 90% guess as to...

      Monster's Inc. promo at Blockbuster

Blockbuster has a repeat of the "Lord of the Ring" deal for Monster's Inc. For $24.99 you get 10 free rentals and of course Monster's Inc.

Not a bad deal if, you watch a lot of movies. 8) Just thought I'd pass the info.
