In the past 1 1/2 weeks, I've only received Serenity in HD DVD from Netflix. My queue format is set to default to HD DVD. According to my queue, Doom was shipped yesterday and Million Dollar Baby, Apollo 13, and The Last Samurai was shipped today (I'm on the 5 out plan). What HD DVDs have you received, and how does Blockbuster compare to Netflix for HD DVD rentals???
What HD DVDs have you received from Netflix and/or Blockbuster???

I don't use these services, and I think they're going to be a bit slow in shipping stuff compared to going out and buying. OTOH, if you can already get titles like Doom, Serentiy, Apollo 13, The The Last Samuarai via Amazon (which I have), then there's not any real "reason" other than Netflix's operational planning and logistics for them not to be available through them... i.e., if the committment is there. But then again, they may understimate the demand and be "swamped". In the early days, I'd expect some misfit between supply and demand- supply is low initially, and a small change in actual demand can overwhelm it, so to speak.the AudioWorx

In the past week I've received 5 HD DVDs from Netflix; received Apollo 13 today. BTW: A dark movie such as Doom really shows what a real POS my Panny 700 is. Hell, the late Helen Keller could see the "fog" in the blacks of my Panny 700. I envy those of you who have the $$$ to buy the HD DVDs, and view them on a Ruby.- Bottom

by Chris DI thought this might be an interesting thread. A lot of us are continually cycling flicks through our players, rented from Netflix, Blockbuster, or others. And yet somehow, I still can't seem to get my Netflix queue below the 500 max limit! Every time I watch a chunk of movies and drop my queue numbers,...-

by Chris DI checked, and didn't really see any other threads that had a good discussion of these services, so I thought I'd start one for everybody to chime in.
For a while, now, I have NOT signed up with DVD rental companies, primarily for the reason that as I travel a lot with my job, I didn't...-

by maseline_98We currently have blockbuster. I like the service because we are able to exchange them in the store. The problem is that our closest store is closing this Sunday. When renting through the mail, the blu-rays(at least new releases) seem to take much longer to get than we would like(usually with a 'very...-

by maseline_98I was wondering if anybody had a chance to check this out. I was thinking about giving it a try for myself, but I think it takes a $8.99 plan and I currently have a $21.99 plan with Blockbuster that comes with 3 movies + 1 Free Movie/Game rental. It also has unlimited in-store returns(which is really...-
