AWESOME cd. Period. Definitely a blues/jazz/latin feel that just melds so well together, plus the quality is very good. Reminds me of SRV a little bit. Man I miss SRV...

Wkhanna got me a few CDs I'm going to listen to here... I already ordered Miles Davis "A Tribute to Jack Johnson" Really cool CD!!! Plus picked up the remastered Santana "Abraxas" and a couple Mike Oldfield CDs. Listening sessions are bad, they make me buy things! lol :

So do you have a favourite SRV DVD? I think that "Live at the El Mocambo" is possibly SRV at his peak so I'd be interested in your opinion if SRV DVDs are an area of interest for you.

I think my favorite SRV DVD is live from Austin Texas. Just like the feel and vibe I get from that DVD, El Mocambo I do really like and I agree that is pretty much his prime. I just wish there was more shows they'd release!

I watched the DVD a couple of weeks ago. A great concert but some aweful beards! The only sub-par performance was from Eric Clapton who was heavily addicted to heroin at the time and was unable to find any quality gear in New York. Billy Preston performed well. He died a few months ago.

A few weeks ago I was visiting my best friend in Oriental, NC. Rod is the guy responsible for infecting me with this ‘Disease’ in the first place. He has since ‘upgraded’ some of his own system, and offered me his old Carver C-19 Pre-amp with four Sovtek tubes installed. I just hooked it up (analog of course) to my CDP and thru in this CD.

I may have to go back and listen to my entire collection all over again. All I can say is my wife, who doesn’t quite understand or share my ‘sickness’, and had no idea what I was up to, came into the room and said “ I was listening in the kitchen, that sounds real nice!”

David Beegle's "One Year Closer" again.

You know those albums that you just fall in love with, and enjoy listening to over, and over? The ones that make your short list of favorite albums to grab for a trip? This is definitely one of those for me.

Today it's the Dire Straits Brothers in Arms 20th Anniversary Edition.

Even while I'm traveling, on my laptop with Soundblaster Audigy 2NX souncard and Etymotic earphones, it's an awesome DVD-A. I do miss my home reference setup, though. This album is unbeatable. True audiophile heaven.
