    cables and wires

hello everyone. first time user here from Nashville, TN.

I am starting a H/T project and looking to the pros for suggestions and comments.

    my components:

Mitsubishi UltraVision Projection TV (to be upgraded down the road)

    marantz SR-19 receiver
    marantz vc5000 DVD changer

    B&W Nautilus 805 surround speakers (4)
    B&W Nautiuls HTM1 center channel

B&W ASW 1000 subs (2 - though I may only install one... suggestions?)

My inquiry really starts with the cables and plates.

I plan on hanging the surround speakers on wall brackets and installing wire inside my walls. What should I look for in quality wire and where is a good retailer (online or otherwise)? How about wall plates?

I thank you all for your expertise.

    best,

I would say for your in wall stuff, you could check with our sponsor Brent at Media Concepts. He might be able to get you, (or already has) whatever you need for in wall, and more. In fact, I feel pretty sure he's got Niles, something on those lines.

Welcome to a fellow Tennessean. We are a rare breed in A/V. You don't see to many from TN doing HT, it's strange really.

      Cables

I recently purchased a set of Silvercat interconnect cables from a forum sponsor , CAT Cables. Doug is very knowledgeable and a great guy to work with. I would check with CAT before I went anywhere else for cables. You can check the CAT forum on this site for happy customer testimonials and links to the CAT site are easy enough to find around here. Honestly , the Silvercats blew away a decent set of WireWorld Atlantis cables that I was impressed with-until I tried the Silvercats. Good luck :T

Yep, make your mind up before you put your cable in wall so you can run sub cable there to if needed.

Correct placement for two subs can be tricky and advantages gained can depend on the room.

One thought: If you know where you are going to run the cables to/from, then install in the walls a good-sized PVC conduit with 45-degree angles instead of 90s. This will facilitate the running of more cables later if you choose to do so.
