    Wall-Mounting LCD Help

I've just purchased our first flat panel TV - Samsung LN52A750 - I'm not exactly what you'd call an early-adopter. I'm looking for some recommendations in a couple of areas and have searched both this and PE with little success in finding what I need. Maybe I'm searching the wrong keywords as I can't believe that this has been address more than once.

    Wiring a custom install...
    Options:
Box and receptacle in wall with a short length of wire on both ends
Bulk wire plates with a single length of wire from component to TV (through the wall with bulk cable plates).

The wall plate with two short cables has the advantage of being clean and looking good. I have a fundamental reluctance to run bulk cable running out of a hole in the wall. However, I recognize that each connection introduces loss and the better performance will probably had with a single run of cable. Is the addition of the connection using something like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=300-624 an ok way to go? ... or is it too many connections, thus suggesting that I use something like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=261-510?

Also, looking at HDMI for 120Hz 1080P with a total run of about 12-15 ft. I've looked at everything from the $8 deal here (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=181-726) as well as the Blue Jeans cables and most things in between. I've also been directed to www.monoprice.com and have looked through their stuff. Looking for cable recommendations as well.

Lastly, the Dayton TV mounts seem to be quite reasonable (like this one http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=182-343), are they good enough? I don't really want to skimp on this and I do need a slight tilt in my install.

    Thanks for your help.

At 15', I would stay away from the cheapest cables. The Blue-jeans are good for longer runs up to 50'.

If you're not going to go with an articulating arm, I see no need for a wall box for the HDMI. The puke-out style plate (TM) would be fine. You're going to want a long cord to ease plugging it in away from the wall. You can then feed it back through the hole or stuff it behind the tv.

Since you want to use a flat tilt-mount, you're not going to see anything behind the middle of the TV. No need to spend more money, add additional connections, and make hooking/hiding the wires more difficult just to make something no one will see pretty.

In most of our installs it's a 2" hole with no plate. Unless it's an external wall or a box pre-wired.

I have been customizing the Dayton binding post back plate from partsexpress.
