    A Hissing Polk

Just a question concerning one of my speakers. I use Polk Audio RT-1000i Loud speakers and was wondering about a suspicious hissing sound that came from it a day ago while watching a movie. I was watching Predator and at the end if you know, theres a huge explosion where the monster blows away half the rain forest..anyways, when the exsplosion is coming to an end the sound goes pretty high pitched and the speakers sounds like its hissing or even a little scratchy...Im hoping theres no damage here since my warrenty expired like a year ago.

    Anyone with a diagnosis?

Have you tried tweaking your audio settings: Dynamic range, Filters, etc.
check your speaker wire connections, clean them if you can.
I have the DTS version of Predator and the Yamaha DSP-A1 and never had that problem.
