Geez, let's each plan on getting a couple for Christmas; one for the family room, and one for the bedroom audio system!

      Interesting their approach to DSD:

For all of those reasons, DSD capability for the Alpha DAC Reference Series is provided by an included state of the art software application that provides either real time conversion of DSD 1x and DSD 2x to 176.4 kHz 24 bit PCM during playback or conversion to 176.4 kHz 24 bit AIFF or WAV files. The software application is included in the price of the Alpha DAC Reference Series and is compatible with either Windows OS or Mac OS based music servers.
Funny, that's basically whatI do with a dedicated hardware board in an Oppo SACD player, before it outputs on S/PDIF at 24/176.4.

It would be a hoot to hear this in a good system-

But what's weird is that this is NOT showing up on the Berkeley Audio web site!

Lately something I've decided is that companies making high end DAC's with digital volume controls with the intent of eliminating the preamp, should provide more than one AES/EBU input... especially for $13K!

Time to throw the NAD M51 out in the trash, even before I get it. HA HA HA HA.

I would seriously love to hear it though!

From the little I have been able to uncover, the information released so far was heisted from a dealer letter.
According to Chris Connaker of Computer Audiophile, Berkeley is to release more information including a white paper soon.
Chris is also on the short list for one of the first review samples, too.

and I have just decided that companies making high-end anything should send us review samples.....and not expect to get them back......

Where does your trash can reside exactly?

When I let you know it's in the garbage... you can go to here.... then the key will be to figure out exactly which one it's in! First one there wins!

The real disadvantage is WKHanna & Finleyville know exactly where to look....
