Ok folks.......just turned 50 this November 11th and a friend of mine got me another copy of Chris Botti's live in Boston on Blu ray for my birthday (Busted my original in a late night drop on the floor!). Spun it again last night and I must say, It's a benchmark for what Blu ray is capable of in both picture and sound. Simply Fantastic!!........if of course you like this type of music. :T

There's several songs that bring me to tears in that video, starting with the conclusion of the first song. As a trumpet player myself, a good, solid, trumpet tone can make me fall apart. Chris came up to Anchorage in concert a year or two ago, and I got tickets wayyyyyy ahead of time. One of the top 2-3 concerts I've ever been to, and his performance of Nessun Dorma left me literally shaking in my seat. I met him afterwards, and had him sign a piece of artwork I specifically had made for the concert.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

I went to Chris's concert tonight in Anchorage, Alaska, and it was absolutely amazing. I'd have to say it was one of the top 3 concerts I've ever been to. It was certainly fun, but the concert was especially tops for all-out, max quality music that was exceptionally tight. Chris's...-

by kmchengI was playing the newly released Chris Botti in Boston blu-ray disc last night, and it looks and sounds fantastic. The musicianship of all the artists are superb.
Anyway, I use the PS3 to play blu-ray, and this disc has a 96k Dolby TrueHD sound track. However, the 1069 front panel display...-

There are some discs that I consider MANDATORY purchases for HT/music enthusiasts--Chris Botti Live in Boston BD, Dire Straits Brothers in Arms 20th Anniversary SACD/DVD-A, Apollo 13, Cars, etc.
If you haven't already, add "The Art of Flight" of that. There...-

Here's the deal. I've pretty much settled on a 7.1, 50wpc receiver to start the whole HT thing. Fortunately my fiancee is going to continue building the HT scene, allowing me to invest significantly on my hi-fi.
For her birthday, I'm starting her off with a H/K...-

I have a graduate degree in EE and undergraduate in Applied Physics. I went to school in Boston in the mid 80’s. I worked for a number of years for the...-
